A New Season

A new season is upon us. My family is getting ready to open our windows and begin working diligently to clean out all the dust and cobwebs.

We are pulling up to the finish line of the dreary chills of difficult times.

It’s time for fresh…

New…

The upcoming season for us is the season of “No.”

No to extra…

No to external commitments…

No to reoccurring…

No to, “can you?” “will you?”

Sound harsh?

Maybe it is, but it’s needed.

It’s only a season. It won’t last forever, but every season has its time and place.

For us, No is now.

As we start working to clean the dust off of our work ethic, we will also reach for the hard to grab cobwebs found wrapped around our attitudes. Perhaps we may pick up a few pieces of frustration that are cluttering up our manners and gentle words.

We are entering a season where we are going to welcome the sunshine in to light up the faces we were blessed to share a home with. We are going to SEE each other, and relearn how to work through our differences and disagreements because…

If we can’t come together within the walls of our own home…

If we can’t share love and compassion with the beings we were selected to call our family…

How then are we to join hands and hearts to embrace a longing world?

So, for now, we will be home…

Loving one another…

Cleaning…

In preparation for our season of No.
